The ideal time to start preparing your body for pregnancy is about 6-12 months before trying to conceive. But don’t worry if you’re getting a late start! It’s always a good time to make positive changes to your diet and lifestyle. These changes, along with Acupuncture and other Naturopathic treatments, may increase your chances of conceiving and having a healthy pregnancy. We offer support to couples at every stage of the fertility journey, including those who haven’t started trying yet and those who have been trying for years or decades. We gladly serve all individuals trying to conceive, including LGBTQ+ individuals and Single Mothers by Choice.

For couples getting ready to try
There is only a 20-25% chance of getting pregnant during any given month. Why not increase those chances by targeting ovulation and optimizing your diet and lifestyle in advance?

- For the couple who will be trying to conceive in the next 3-12 months. It is ideal to start preparing for pregnancy at least 3 months in advance (but it’s okay if you haven’t)! If you come in at least 6 months in advance, you may benefit from a Fertility Detox (see below).
- With the goal of getting your bodies ready for conception, we work to increase fertility using dietary and lifestyle changes, supplements, herbs, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and mind-body medicine. Since both men and women can benefit from these recommendations, it is ideal if the couple comes in together for the visit.

- How to optimize your sperm quality
- How to time sex to increase your chances of conceiving easily
- The initial intake is 90 minutes long and includes a complete medical history, review of systems, physical exam, and lab testing, when appropriate.
- Naturopathic treatment may include Fertility Detox, Acupuncture, Constitutional Hydrotherapy, Specialized testing of hormones, adrenal function, food sensitivities, and genetic profile.
For couples who have been trying for 6-12 months
In couples where the woman is under 35 years of age, it can be normal to take up to a year of well-timed intercourse for pregnancy to occur. In couples where she is over 35 years old, Infertility can be diagnosed after consistently trying for only 6 months. Depending on your age, if you have been trying for 6-12 months, it may be time to look in to the situation a bit more extensively. Since 35% of Infertility cases are due to male infertility, 35% are due to female infertility, and 20% are due to combined problems, it’s important for the couple to come in together for a complete work-up.

Fertility Detox
The Fertility Detox is meant for couples who will be trying to conceive in the next 6-12 months. It can also be helpful for women who are taking a break from IUI or IVF and want to detox from all the fertility meds. Since detoxing can temporarily increase toxins in the body, it’s essential to wait at least 3 months after detoxing before trying to get pregnant.
Sadly, we have never lived in a more toxic world. Synthetic chemicals are ubiquitous in our environment and have permeated our air, water, and soil. Many of these chemicals are fat-soluble, so they get stored in our bodies long-term and can be passed to our children during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Chemical exposure has been shown to cause a multitude of conditions, including allergies, asthma, immune suppression, altered cognitive and behavioral development, reproductive issues, and cancer.
Most chemicals are endocrine disruptors, which means they alter hormones like thyroid, adrenal, and sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone). Proper levels of these hormones are essential when trying to conceive, and for feeling healthy in general.
Navigating a world where we’re bombarded by toxins can be overwhelming. The Fertility Detox provides you with useful tools to live a cleaner life and to detox your body in preparation for pregnancy. The program includes:
